Creative Weekender

The Blue Room Theatre

Creative Weekender is back for 2023; a free, two-day, practical arts experience for creative young people in Years 9 – 12.

Students are invited to apply to Creative Weekender in one of four different artistic streams; Dance, Performance Art, Hip Hop, and Creative Writing.

How to take part

Each stream of 15 students will be led by an exciting local artist from our 2023 Festival program. These artists will guide their students through a series of practical workshops to develop an idea or an artwork over the two days.

Participants will also experience some cross-disciplinary workshops and panels; streams will combine to explore ideas with local artists, and there will be two talks where our teaching artists will discuss their arts practice and their career pathways.

Participation is on a first-come-first-served basis, so read on to learn about our artistic leaders and to apply.
